Bible Reading Plans for 2019

In John 17:17, Jesus prays that His disciples (us!) would be “sanctified by the truth.” So one of the desires of the Savior’s heart is for us to be sanctified (i.e. made like Him or made holy). He wants us to be holy as He is holy. And a major way we’re sanctified is “by the truth.” Then, in the same verse, Jesus states, “Your word is truth.”

So Jesus wants us to be made holy by the truth and God’s word is truth. We are sanctified as we study and saturate ourselves in Holy Scripture.

With 2019 fast approaching, now is the time to plan how you’ll steep yourself in God’s word this next year. As the saying goes, “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Do you have a plan for how you’ll work through God’s word in 2019?

Personally, I recommend the use of a Bible reading plan. They’re not the only way to read God’s word. You could study a book of the Bible or work your way through a theological topic. But if you don’t have a plan, consider using one of the following:

  Book-at-a-Time Bible Reading Plan

The Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan

  Two-Year Bible Reading Plan

  5X5X5 New Testament Reading Plan

Here’s to Scripture consumption and personal transformation in 2019!
